The core engineer specializing in GSM will collaborate with the Service Delivery Management team in the UK&I region. Their role involves delivering technical expertise to assist customers both remotely and on-site. Daily responsibilities revolve around executing solutions for clients and addressing reported issues. Additionally, the position encompasses aiding in project initiatives for the implementation of innovative technology/systems, features, and functionality.
Responsibilities:
This position entails active involvement in project delivery and engineering support activities, with the following key responsibilities:
- Apply NSS knowledge and expertise to execute and support integration and acceptance tasks.
- Coordinate Integration and Acceptance (I&A) activities for various projects, collaborating with different departments and teams.
- Develop, define, and review test plans in collaboration with the customer.
- Perform test case execution either alongside the customer or independently at the customer's location.
- Generate, track, report, and close trouble tickets opened during testing or maintenance.
- Interface with customers to gather information necessary for issue resolution.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams, including Product Support and R&D specialist engineers, as well as external suppliers (OEM), to ensure timely resolution of tickets within defined SLAs.
- Communicate progress and technical solutions to customers.
- Provide regular status reports both internally and to customers.
- Proactively anticipate customer escalation and keep management informed.
- Participate in technical customer meetings.
- Contribute to a 24/7 on-call rotation.
Key requirements for this role include:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a relevant technical area, with prior end-to-end integration and/or technical support experience in GSM core technologies (MSC, HLR, SCP, STP).
- Strong expertise in IP and/or OAM domains, coupled with a solid understanding of end-to-end wireless network products and protocols, is advantageous.
- Working knowledge of the Red Hat Linux operating system; experience with Virtualization is desirable..
