We are actively seeking an outstanding candidate for the role of Group IT Engineer – Infrastructure Security & Reporting. This thrilling opportunity, based in Cape Town, South Africa, invites you to play a crucial role in fortifying our security posture and ensuring up-to-date reports on various infrastructure security areas.


Role Overview:

As the reliance on Group IT systems continues to grow, the Infrastructure IT teams are intensifying their focus on security and reporting. In this role, you will work closely with various IT Infrastructure and security teams to monitor and administer security controls, generate insightful reports, and contribute to the overall enhancement of our security posture.


Key Responsibilities:

Perform day-to-day monitoring and administration of security controls for tooling solutions, covering on-premise and Cloud-based systems such as Office 365 and Azure.
Ensure the effectiveness of patching, security controls, and mechanisms by monitoring key security services. Investigate and escalate issues as needed.
Assist in delivering security reviews and managing metrics to ensure confidentiality, integrity, standardization, and consolidation for ease of support and maintenance.
Take ownership of obtaining information, evidence, and data required to diagnose and resolve complex problems.
Utilize provided tools to create reports for external and internal auditors.
Proactively analyze trends and reports to highlight potential problems.
Take responsibility for internal and external audits, including penetration testing.


Key Qualifications:

High proficiency in written and spoken English.
Higher education with a focus on data security.
Good knowledge of security processes, Cloud environments, and on-premise systems (Windows PC and Server).
Experience working in information security, technology architecture, or an infrastructure role.
Practical knowledge of information security risks, controls, and frameworks (e.g., NIST, COS, or ISO27001).
Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT, with a strong background in general security practices.
Excellent communication and business relationship skills.
