FPG are recruiting for a GIS Engineer to join our customer project, a leading telecoms business in Dublin Ireland. We are looking to engage someone to work on a 9 month contract, with possibility for extension.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee the quarterly updates of OSi Mapping, GeoDirectory, and GNI within the GIS platform.
- Develop, execute, and validate reports using tools such as FME, Oracle SQL, HxGN NetWorks Core, and ArcGIS.
- Manage the validation and synchronization processes of GIS data with OSS and BSS systems.
- Administer user access to various IT resources.
- Provide technical support and training to both internal and external GIS users, including design and build contractors.
- Collaborate closely with design and build contractors to ensure compliance with GIS requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement of GIS processes and solutions by scoping, developing, and implementing new business requirements.
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in GIS, science, engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 3 years of GIS experience, preferably within the telecommunications industry.
- Proficient in Geographic Information Systems, including Hexagon Networks Core (formerly G/Technology Fibre Optic Works), ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Professional, QGIS, and Google Earth.
- Hands-on experience with FME Form and FME Flow, OSi Mapping, and GeoDirectory.
- Strong competence in Oracle SQL, including the ability to write SQL scripts.
- Solid understanding of relational databases and experience running database queries using SQL Developer or similar tools.
- Familiarity with telecom fiber networks (FTTH/FTTB).
- Self-motivated and capable of working under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Effective team player with strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license.
