FPG are recruiting on behalf of a global telecommunications company who specialise in designing building and supporting global networks and infrastructure. We are looking for a Fibre Surveyor either qualified or who would require training to work on a long term contracting basis. This opportunity will provide you with a pathway to either continue working as a surveyor or move into the fibre design space or consenting and wayleave.
Day Rate: €250 Per Day
Location: Ireland. Travel and overnight stays required weekly Monday to Friday, as the rollout progresses across the country.
Responsibilities:
- Follow client-specific protocols & specifications
- Be familiar with data gathering tools and techniques using iPads or comparable PDAs
- Communicate with and keep the Team Lead and Survey Supervisors informed within the team
- Comply with all the H&S regulations
H&S Procedures:
- Before construction begins, perform dynamic risk assessments on site
- Use an early warning system called a "red flag" to report any visible dangers or problems.
- Implement control measures to allow the survey to be conducted safely.
Design Requirements:
- Verify the preliminary detailed design, making note of any problems or special engineering difficulties (SEDs), and accurately document all site information.
- Then, based on the client's specifications and any known constraints, present the most workable and affordable solution.
- Assist in answering any questions to make sure that design moves along as rapidly as feasible.
Representation:
- Act properly when participating in surveys and uphold our and the customer's best interests.
- At all times, both on and off the job site, act professionally, responsibly, and conscientiously.
- Coordinate with all parties participating in the survey on-site, including representatives of the local government, landowners, council members, and any other third parties.
Role requirements:
- Full driving license and car
- PC Literate - surveys will be completed on iPads provided using a map design app
- Ability to work away from home Monday - Friday (expenses and accommodation provided)
