Main Purpose of Job:

As the Application Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting, maintaining, and administering various applications within our portfolio. Collaborating closely with the Application Manager, you will strive for standardization and best practices across the group

Scope of Job:

Troubleshooting: Be the go-to problem solver, engaging with customers to find solutions for incidents, problems, and service requests.
Assess Business Process Requirements: Analyze business workflows to identify and advise on application solutions, staying updated on the latest software developments.
Create Protocols for Software: Develop protocols and procedures for new and existing software, providing training to users as necessary.
Project Management: Drive your own project portfolio with support from the Application Manager, overseeing updates, upgrades, and maintenance.
Execute Business Priorities: Contribute to defining, planning, and documenting key projects and initiatives.
Customer Excellence: Uphold and enhance customer satisfaction across all sites, driving best practices and optimizing operational teams.
Vendor Relationship Management: Handle escalation inquiries from end-users, managing the troubleshooting lifecycle from customer to vendor.
ITIL Process: Follow ITIL standards on the helpdesk to align with global standards.

Key Result Areas:


Assist with budget processes and vendor management.
Support departmental sourcing and budgeting efforts.


Manage contractors and ensure customer satisfaction.
Align with SLAs and assess technical needs.
Foster strong relationships across teams and with staff/clients.


Deliver on key projects for the portfolio.
Implement operational compliance standardization.
Manage technical problem resolution and support process improvements.

Personal Attributes:

The ideal candidate will possess:

Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Syspro) and WMS (Datscope WMS).
Familiarity with applications such as Qlikview, Rapidtrade, Pastel, SAGE, Netstock.
5+ years of experience in application support or related roles.
Exceptional technical ability and SQL proficiency.
Comfort with debugging software at various technical levels.
Previous exposure to the ITIL process and high-pressure environments.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Initiative-driven and customer service-oriented.

Qualifications & Skills Level:

5-10 years of experience in IT application or infrastructure environments.
Degree in computer science or relevant technical qualifications.
