FPG is recruiting for a Business Development Manager with a background in selling telecommunications products / solutions – ideally in Transmission (FTTx / Fibre / Microwave) / Radio / RF / Cellular / IP infrastructure. You will have a hunter mentality, with an existing network/connection of potential prospects within Telecoms / Utilities / Defence sectors (either/or). This is an exciting time to join our client because recent success has given them confidence to grow as they expand into new markets.

Our client is an established telecommunication company that provides telecommunication solutions for essential mission and business-critical networks. Renowned for their innovative technology, they offer network infrastructure and applications that enhance current networks. Additionally, they implement digital transformation programs that ensure a smooth transition from legacy systems to new technologies.

The Mission:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities.
- Discover new business markets, clients, partnerships, products, and services while maintaining existing ones.
- Develop and build new customer relationships and manage their expectations.
- Quantify network operator projects.
- Close sales orders from telecom network operators

Responsibilities:
- Identify and quantify business sectors for broadband, utilities, government/defense, including direct and indirect sales through system integrators.
- Search for potential market areas for telecom opportunities.
- Present the company's telecommunication solutions to potential users.
- Proactively present the company's value proposition.
- Attend industry events and conferences to network and promote products and the business.
- Build relationships and stay up to date with new products and technologies.
- Create sales forecasts and actively work towards achieving them, presenting sales information to the senior management team.
- Actively participate in the completion of tender applications received by the business.
- Deliver in-person and online sales presentations to prospective and existing customers.
- Collaborate with our engineering team to find resolutions and solutions for all new and existing customers.

Experience:
- Achieve at least £1 million in new business within the first year.
- You'll achieve a Business as Usual (BaU) revenue run-rate of £2 million per annum by the second year.
- Develop a strong understanding of the company's products and industry competition.
- Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English.
- Demonstrate excellent time management skills and the ability to multitask.
- Display strong leadership abilities.
- Provide exceptional customer service.
- Possess technical skills to understand and propose products and solutions tailored to client requirements.
- Have solid IT skills and proficiency in essential software, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and statistical analysis tools.
- Show self-motivation.
- Conduct research and stay current with telecom industry standards, trends, and insights.
- Operate remotely after initial on-site training, with weekly visits to the office
- Acquire fundamental product knowledge.

Desired:
- Over 5 years of proven experience in the telecoms sector.
- Management experience or a bachelor's degree in marketing, accounting, finance, business management, or business administration, or a Level 2 Diploma in Skills for Business: Sales & Marketing, or a Level 3 Award in Sales Management.
