Placement of the week: Datacom Consultant

Suzy Su and Abby Huang from First Point Group's Shenzhen office assisted their client, a leading service provider in recruiting a Datacom Consultant.

The challenge

Attracting good quality candidates was important for the client as they had very specific requirements. However, after finding what we felt the was the perfect candidate, we experienced a further setback as a result of strict rules arising from the pandemic. Country specific restrictions caused the hiring process to become a lot longer than expected, especially when waiting for the candidates work permit to be authorised. "We kept constant communication between the candidate and client as we wanted to avoid a dropout at all costs, especially when the candidate was applying for a work permit." - Suzy Su

The result

Despite the setbacks, we were able to keep the candidate interested in the Datacom role and kept constant communication between both the candidate and client. Overall, the client was impressed with our ability to find a good quality candidate with the engineer experience and the skills they desired.
