First Point Group was founded in London in May 2004. Within six months, we’d become one of Ericsson’s global preferred suppliers for managed services.
In summer 2008 we established an office in Dubai, quickly followed by one in Mexico.
In 2008 we featured in the Sunday Times Fast Track top 100 (a list which ranks Britain's fastest growing privately held companies by sales growth over the previous 3 years). We also enjoyed a good chat and a nice cup of tea with Richard Branson, who hosted the presentation at his country estate.

At the start of 2009 First Point became a member of the Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo), the professional body that represents the interests of organisations engaged in the acquisition of business professionals.

In 2009 we won the Queen’s Award for Enterprise, for International Trade. The presentation took place in our London Headquarters, and we attended a reception for the winners held by her majesty the Queen at Buckingham Palace.

In July 2009 we set up our fourth international office, in Hong Kong, the ideal location from which to work with our many clients in China and the rest of the Asia Pacific region.
In February 2010 Dallas became the location for our fifth office. The USA is a huge telecoms market so have we big expectations!
In August 2010 we launched the new First Point Group brand, after an intensive process lasting almost a year. The project came about after the UK Design Council contacted us in 2009 and talked to us about the role of branding, something we'd been rather too busy to think about up until then. A government-sponsored programme introduced us to experts in the field of design and communication from the Design Council and Fortune Street, who guided and supported us through the complex branding process. We believe that the resulting look, feel and tone of voice reflect the true nature of the First Point family. We hope that you agree. In January 2011, First Point Group was ranked second in the Recruiter Fast 50, 2011 – the annual league table of the UK's fastest growing privately held recruitment firms, compiled by Recruiter magazine & Boxington Corporate Finance.
Recruiter magazine says that the companies that have been successful in this year's list are those with market specialisation, and that makes sense to us: the more you know your niche market, the more you can add value back. That's why, against a backdrop of economic decline, with the UK slumping into the worst recession since the 1930s, FPG, with its experience in and focus on telecoms, has continued to invest and grow. It's also why we believe we're in a strong position for the recovery.

In August 2011, First Point Group became the first international telecoms recruitment company to set up a dedicated Chinese website to serve clients in Asia (
www.firstpointgroup.com.cn). First Point started working in Asia Pacific in 2004, and we opened our Hong Kong office in 2009. Chris Lamb (one of FPG’s growing number of Mandarin speakers) currently heads up the Hong Kong team, working with clients including Huawei and Ericsson across the region.
In January 2012, First Point Group once again appeared in the Recruiter Fast 50, the annual league table of the UK's fastest growing privately held recruitment firms, compiled by Recruiter magazine & Boxington Corporate Finance.
